ABOUT

The playfulness of slipware and the craft and effortlessness of traditional country pottery has informed my language within ceramics. I have a fascination with historical pottery and the natural marks of the potter, created through process and forever fired onto ceramics.

At the same time I also have a desire to explore domestic ware as a canvas to create objects in between art and function. My imagery is inspired by typical earthenware decoration, often natural gestures born out of tools, process and technique. Another great inspirational source is abstract expressionism, that I feel has a certain relation to the potter's decoration with its subconscious and spontaneous approach to the canvas.

I have a background in the game industry where I used to work as a game designer. During a career break I discovered clay and since then the temporary break became a permanent change. I graduated from Clay College in Stoke-on-Trent in 2021, where the English pottery traditions have made a clear impression on my practice. I have since then returned to Denmark and in 2024 I started opened up a gallery in Odense called 14kvm, a gallery dedicated to contemporary Danish studio ceramics. Here you'll also find my workshop, where I aim to make contemporary slipware with a strong foundation in traditional craftsmanship.
